Britain's ace percussionist Robin Jones is on the verge of emerging in his own right on the Latin Jazz scene after many years performing and recording with many top artistes and groups, including the Pet Shop Boys, Elton John, Bee Gees, Phil Woods, Stan Getz, John Barry, Sade and M-People. This eight-track instrumental Afro Cuban Jazz album was written and arranged by band member Nick Walker, including Street Atlas (with Robin), a continuation of Atlas, one of Robin's big tunes from the '70s. Robin Jones (congas/percussion) is joined by Steve Waterman (trumpet/flugelhorn), Nick Walker (baritone and soprano sax & flute), Chris Kibble (piano), Gerry Hunt & Dave Barnard (bass guitars) on separate tracks and Adam Riley (drums/timbales/percussion). All these band members are well known on the Latin and Jazz circuit and regularly play in and around London. 'This truly is REAL Afro Cuban Jazz, where neither music style dominates over the other... Snowboy: from his sleeve notes on Latin Underground.'
