Why Don't You Do Right

A 2 track classic r&b single (4m 30s) — released May 4th 2015 on Popcorn

Originally recorded in 1936 as 'Weed Smokers Dream' by the Harlem Hamfats, the drug references were significantly toned down for Lil Green's 1941 update 'Why Don't You Do Right'. Since then the song has been a jazz standard, perhaps reaching a peak of infamy with its inclusion in the 1980s film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. Paired here are two smoldering, female vocal takes on the song, both from the late 50s R&B era so cherished by popcorn collectors and DJs.
