Cult underground music show An Taobh Tuathail

releases 3 CD Boxset collection of music

"An Taobh Tuathail ...; defined by individuality, idiosyncrasy and a determination to walk its own path. May it live for a hundred years." Irish Independent

Cian Ó Cíobhain, presenter of cult underground music show An Taobh Tuathail (The Other Side) on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, has in the past compiled three compilations of music from his radio show for the Psychonavigation label. On August 27th, the three CDs will be re-released as a collection on the same label.

Ó Cíobhain, described by The Quietus, UK as 'the Irish John Peel', has been broadcasting underground, leftfield music from around the world on An Taobh Tuathail (ATT) since 1999 and, much like the show, the music on the collection is programmed towards late-night listening, with most of the tracks veering towards a hushed and contemplative tone. Among the more established artists, the collection features music by Animal Collective, Mount Kimbie, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and The Caretaker. The radio show has long supported Irish acts and the collection features homegrown tracks from the ilk of Cane 141/B-Movie Lightning, Chequerboard and Loner Deluxe.

An Taobh Tuathail is broadcast on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (92-94 fm), Ireland Mon-Fri 21.00-23.00, and live online. See www.rte.ie/rnag/antaobhtuathail.html
