Odds and Ends

A 7 track leftfield/idm album (41m 5s) — released October 13th 2014 on Psychonavigation

Valentin Chernov aka Sapphirine Phlant was born in 1995 in a small Russian town, called Novocherkassk. He started to make music in 2012 but it was later in 2013 while listening to AFX's "Analord" series that Chernov made the final decision to strictly only make Ambient / IDM music.Respected Electronic artist Artists Aphex Twin, Autechre and Burial are his many influences but he is also highly influenced by the non-electronic group Interpol.

Sapphirine Phlant's music evokes a sad and lonely minor sound, where his emotions can be transferred in the most plausable way using the same old 808 and 909 drums mixed with Minimoog and Massive deep basses and unpredictable EFX's and atmospheric pads.

Another lovely slice of sound from the Psychonavigation camp here with Sapphirine Phlant's Odds And Ends. Stand out track -Seashore. - Mike Dancefloor Mantis Radio

. LP highlight 'Seashore' takes a rusty amen break and transports it into something slower, obvious reference points would be SAW85-92 and Luxury Problems era Andy Stott and this is no bad thing at all, but at the same time Phlant has truly crafted out a sound of his own overlaid with an aching sense of existential despair. - Editor Bleep.com
