E1sbar - Super Fantasy

Super Fantasy

Polar Vortex

Released: 11th May 2015 | 7 track nu-disco ep

Piper Davis is a musician and Red Bull Music Academy Alumna based in Toronto. She has collaborated as a vocalist and a producer with Keys N Krates, Stimming, Dennis Coffey of the Funk Brothers, Russell Elevado (recorded and mixed D'Angelo's Voodoo), Mark Instinct, and grammy award-nominated Natalia Lafourcade. She has also opened for La Roux and Dragonette as a solo artist and has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Post, Ion, and Exclaim magazine.

Francisco Cueto is a musician and producer hailing from Northern Virginia. As the leading member of All Good Funk Alliance Francisco has been producing music for over 15 years with 4 albums and a slew of singles. He has also has remixed a host of producers including Hardkiss, Fort Knox 5, and Kraak & Smack to name a few.

Super Fantasy was written over the course of a year, with both artists working in separate studios and working exclusively online. Frank would write a music bed and Piper would write and record her own vocals and then the song would mutate until both sides felt good about the song. Style wise the music sounds like Little Dragon meets Phantogram but in their own unique way. Piper's voice is somewhat smokey and raw but she induces some sweet disco-diva tones when needed. The music production is rich and angular without being overly electronic. Touches of organic tones weave in and out to create a rich tapestry of sound. The EP features songs that would fit in that Chill-Wave category on Pandora and the other songs would fit in well next to Passion Pit or LCD Soundsystem.

"Super sexy and ready for radio. This track is only for the girls."
Gavin Hardkiss, Hardkiss
"This is one near perfect slice of dreamy electro pop! Featuring the fantastic melodic trippy vocals of Piper Davis alongside stellar minimal beats, electronic blips and swirling keys, this Ep lives up to its title... pure super fantasy!"
Steve Raskin, Fort Knox Five/Thunderball
"Loving this new project from Frank/AGFA--a nice blend of fuzzy indie dance with a real spatial, ethereal fullness giving this a future fresh dreamy quality. I'm on board!"
Alex Gimeno, Ursula 1000
"As the title suggests, this album is full-fantasy pop, a perfect interplay between E1SBAR's vocals and Frank Cueto's widescreen production. Radio waves for alien babes."
Juan Pieczanski, Small Black
