Manufacturing Dissent

A 2 track deep house ep (15m 51s) — released September 22nd 2008 on Rainy City Music

A new digital chapter begins in the Rainy City of Manchester, England, as one of its most respected underground Deep House Labels, RAINYCITYMUSIC, joins forces with a new label from the same family, FREESOUND. The plan is continue to do what they do best and that's creating interesting, leftfield DEEP HOUSE music for the digital domain. Rainy City Music DJ and label founder IRFAN joins together with long time recording partner CYRIL ' REX LION 'LYONS( FREESOUND ). Having released many hip vinyl records on Rainy City Music from 1996 onwards, remixing BLAZE, ROLAND CLARK, VICTOR DAVIES and BAH SAMBA amongst many, many others. We begin here with a two track release featuring the titles ANDROMEDA and MANUFACTURING DISSENT. Rex Lion's ANDROMEDA is a solid yet warm spaced-out House groove, with swinging Afro percussion, a deep funky bassline, towering strings and a lead synth reminiscent of GONG Guitarist Steve Hillage. MANUFACTURING DISSENT is an altogether more abstract affair that sits readily with today's minimal trippy House flavours currently running Roots House music. The track has that hypnotic jazzy electronic feel, a one bar groove that's gets ACID HOUSE without the use of a TB303, already supported by KARIZMA, PHIL ASHER, LOST HEROE ( INNERVISIONS).
