Roots Garden records are proud to present a brand new LP from Jamaica's master trombonist Vin Gordon
and his eight piece 'Real Rock Band'.

Seven blazing instrumental fuelled roots reggae tracks featuring an all-star line-up of musicians, with vocals from Shaka Black on tracks 1 & 3.

The Album was recorded and mixed by Nick Manasseh at the Yard Studios in West London.

Vin reinvents his 1968 early reggae classic 'Heavenless' for the intro & title track, before taking us on a journey through new compositions, departing only on track 4 to revisit a tune he played on in 1974 at King Tubby's studio for Yabby You, old friend and sparring partner Tommy McCook's deep roots instrumental 'Revenge', this time complete with extended dubwise mixdown.

Biogography - Vin Gordon's contribution to Reggae music is rarely surpassed, having composed & played on hundreds of the most celebrated recordings to emerge from Jamaica's golden era.
Graduating from Kingston's Alpha Boy's school in 1964, his early recordings at 'Studio One' alongside members of the Skatalites band earned him the nickname and accolade 'Don Drummond Junior'. As a member of the in-house'Sound Dimension' & 'Soul vendors' bands he contributed to countless Reggae classics such as Bob Marley & The Wailers Jailhouse, The Abyssinians Satta Massa Ganna & Reggae musics most adapted 'riddim' of all time Real Rock.
A regular feature in Bob Marley's Wailers line-up, Vin continued to record and tour with the band up until 1979 whilst still finding time to record three solo LP's as well as a constant stream of recordings for the islands most notorious artists, studios and producers. These included Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Burning Spear, Culture, U-Roy King Tubby, Augustus Pablo & Bunny Lee to name only a few.
Arriving in London in 1979 he joined the emerging Aswad band, composing seminal hits such as Warrior Charge & Promised Land featuring Dennis Brown....Vin has continued to maintain a musical presence from the very roots of Jamaican music to the present day. His latest project sees him teaming up with an all-star line-up, featuring some of the UK's most established and respected veteran Reggae musicians 'The Real Rock Band'. This marks the opening of yet another window in his fruitful career, and a new musical chapter for the UK-based Jamaican music scene
