Juvenalia

A 9 track adult alternative album (37m 13s) — released November 30th 2018 on Rude Health Music

Rude Health is the name that eventually stuck to the secret recording project that Jesse Wong undertook hidden away in a flat above a chicken shop. This project continued to grow during a stint of recording and touring with the Indie band Big Deal, and has now born fruit in the form of an EP, two singles and a debut album. Sonically, Rude Health bears the hallmarks of a 90s child's non-linear musical upbringing; Pop choruses contend with literary influences, whilst Grunge theatrics fight for space with a love of Hip-hop and Soul. This makes for a proud patchwork, in which fans of different genres may find common ground.

'JUVENALIA' is Rude Health's debut album; a consolidation of a year's work between Dean Street Studios and Wong's own studio space. JUVENALIA discusses the inherent rebuilding of self that is necessitated by the loss of youth and the journey into adulthood; which qualities, behaviours and rules can be held on to, and what must we leave behind? Wong writes of the struggles and contradictions one faces when forced to analyse themselves, and their position in modern society.
