Opening EP

A 4 track leftfield/idm ep (27m 55s) — released June 7th 2010 on Round In Motion

London based Japanese DJ/Producer and sometime-Samurai, Kay Suzuki's new single taken from his first album "CONSCIOUSNESS", features two original songs with remixes by Atjazz and Ezel. "MUSIC" features two west African Griots - traditional musicians, storytellers, historians, archivists and diplomats. Babacarr Dieng is on vocals and percussion, and Jally Kebba Susso plays the Kora, a west African harp. Both come from long line of famous griot families in Gambia and Senegal. They met with Kay in London and instantly connected on a musical and spiritual level. Kay then helped record and produce their material, and when he dropped the "Music" beat, it resonated immediately. On remix duty, heavyweight producer Atjazz transforms the song into his famous deep afro-house style, which is sure to be a floor killer. Flip for "Move On", which has more of an underground soul feel. It takes its lead from dubstep's uptempo speed and wobbling basslines, and adds addictive synth riffs to the mix. London's Duchy takes the music to an even higher level when her vocals kick in. She'll instantly grab your heart with her soulful and spiritual sound. On the remix, Ezel (Yoruba/Ocha) features his signature Dominican live drums, adding an afro-house edge to the tune. Background: Kay Suzuki has grown up surrounded by quality music, since whole his family love music. He is influenced by music with the social / cultural background of its time and place such as Soul, Jazz, Funk, Afro-beat, Latin, House, Broken beat, Detroit techno, and everything in between or beyond. Dubbed "the hardest working Japanese producer/DJ in London", Kay isn't about any particular genre of music - or whether it's electronic or live, but rather about the grooves that make bodies and hearts move. Since moving to London on 2004, he's been heavily involved in London's club scene and had a debut release on BBC award winning party/label Coopr8 (CO-OP), then released remixes and original tracks on several outputs including his own label/party " b i p o l a r ". And now, with this EP he launches his new label Round In Motion. His productions have received support from DJs all over the world including Theo Parrish, Osunlade, Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Bugz In The Attic, Karizma, IG Culture, Domu, Snowboy, Benji B, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Jazztronik and many other worldwide DJs and taste makers alike.
