Make your move

A 1 track uk funky single (3m 48s) — released March 8th 2010 on Slip Disc Recordings

wiki [buh] [cola] It certainly has not been quiet in the Bukola camp over the past year, especially with a second album nearly complete and securing a publishing deal with reputable Westbury Music! Mixing it up a bit and to introduce Bukola's new image and delivery, the UK underground soul sensation has superbly found a niche, unique and conservative style within the UK funky house scene – tampering on original instrumentation whilst keeping her roots and ethics – resulting in the forthcoming single 'Make your move'. Even though one may say 'Make your move' is UK funky, others have argued that this masterpiece covers a wide range of genres, from latin, ragga, soul, broken beat, jazz to a straight up club bang! Vocal additions and support come from the deep tones of MG, the touring MC for Marc Mac (4hero) and a long standing and respected 'messenger' from the Reinforced camp. Keeping club and party goers in mind, 'Make your move' has been specifically mastered to reach out of every venue's woofers and tweeters – powerful kicks, deep bass lines, sharp sides, rolling snares and luscious vocals – 'Make your move' will certainly be making people get wild and test out their two step! Outpost Media will be delivering a 360 degree PR campaign with Bukola's 'Make your move', from radio, online and physical press. The single will have an official launch night at the infamous Luminaire in Bukola's Kilburn manor on Saturday 27 Feb 10, hosted by Twisted Funk, Marc Mac and a very special surprise!

After causing a storm in America, South Africa and the Far East with her debut album Which Way and previous singles, 'Keep High' and 'Hypnotised', Bukola is back on our radio waves once again. 'Make Your Move' is the brand new single and shows just how much Bukola has moved forward in her music career. Following on with the rhythm and soul from her previous singles, this track is lively and colourful embracing jazz and cultural beats along the way. I love the quick piano chords played out alongside the percussion and drum beats. Bukola's vocals are, as always, soulful and velvety rich giving a warm feeling throughout this single. The track also features studio collaborator D'Syfa and MG, who has featured on Groove Armada's Superstylin. It's good to have Bukola back on the scene! 9 - Helena Rea Review Graveyard

Singer/songwriter Bukola releases her new single ‘Make your move' on March 8th. This catchy groove produced by D'Syfa fuses jazz, funk and a tinge of dancehall together with the soulful vocals of Bukola featuring MG who featured on the smash single ‘Superstylin' by Groove Armada. Bukola has already caused a storm in the UK, US, South Africa and the Far East with previous tracks and her album ‘Which Way'. I think ‘Make your move' will follow suit. Very recently I hosted the new single from Bukola called Make Your Move. I have now received news that a free launch party has been arranged to promote the single further on Saturday 27th February. Alongside Bukola taking centre-stage performing with a live band, attendee’s will also be lucky to watch the supernatural break-dancing group Imperial Steps Crew who will be another highlight of the evening. The venue is “The Luminaire” and doors open at 8.00pm until late. Make sure you go and show your support if you’re in the area for Bukola and her latest single “Make Your Move”. - Hip Hop Kings

Make Your Move is the new single from Bukola - the London based rhythm and soul artist and is released on 8 March on Slip Disc and features MG. This head-nodding, foot-tapping track features Bukola on soulful vocals with Bukola collaborator D'Syfa on studio duty. MG - who is also featured on Groove Armada's Superstylin makes a guest appearance giving the track a bashment (lite) edge. Make Your Move spans soul and funky, with a sprinkling of dancehall. Bukola has received superb acknowledgement across the UK and South Africa with previous tracks Keep High, Hypnotise and her album Which Way - which caused a storm in the US, South Africa and the Far East. - Too much flavour

GILLES PETERSON – Producer: “track sounds great.” “No confirmed word but it's certainly in the good pile - GP has been away and it's the WW Awards this weekend so all very hectic at the moment ... I'll give him a nudge - I've spun it out a couple of times and it goes down really well!” - GP's producer BBC Radio 1

BBC 1XTRA BENJI B – Producer: “Thanks for this. It's got a lovely old skool garage piano line on it. We won't be able to play for a couple of weeks as Benji's away but I'll make sure it gets to him so he can hear it as soon as he's back.” - Benji B's producer BBC 1Xtra
