SEIJI 1

A 2 track house single (8m 51s) — released April 5th 2010 on Seijimusic

New series straight from UK producer don, Seiji. Strictly his own tracks on his own limited edtion record and digital imprint. Seiji needs no introduction and his beats certainly need no explaining... tip! Having disappeared from club music for a couple of years Paul Dolby aka Seiji started posting a free series of tracks called "seijigoodies" on his website, www.seiji.co.uk, in early 2009. A year on he's decided it's time for a proper record so here we have SEIJI 1 on his own SEIJIMUSIC imprint. Seiji has played a hallowed role in the evolution and enrichment of UK dance music over the last 15 years. Releases on the seminal Reinforced label were a precursor to him becoming one of the progenitors of "broken beat" and a founding member of Bugz in the Attic. Seiji's influence is now more keenly felt than ever, with myriad UK funky and contemporary garage producers referencing his work, consciously and, at times, unconsciously. Over the past decade and a half Dolby has proved a prolific and restless talent, presenting his own fresh and eccentric takes on house, techno, hip-hop, R&B, drum 'n bass, dancehall and 2-step, most recently making "weird rave" with Riton as Computer Juice. He has just completetd a dj mix and interview for FACT magazine which you can access here: http://www.factmag.com/2010/03/05/fact-mix-129-seiji/ Recent remix work includes the Gorillaz comeback single Stylo, Sticky ft Lady Chann, Florence & The Machine, Basement Jaxx and Crookers. Current radio supporters include Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Toddla T, Sinden, Joe Ransom, Greenmoney and more...
