Split Femur Recordings

Released: 29th December 2008 | 7 track experimental album
Old school friends Alan Daly and Damien Forrester are Horses. Yes, that sounds funny. Har har har trot trot trot. As well as really enjoying getting educated together, Damien has also been a long time musical accomplice of Alan's. Together they've been in close to a billion bands together, some succesful, some not. With their mutual passion for all things loud and nasty, the idea was pitched to start a new project dedicated to pure malevolent noise. Horses combine the hostile nature of artists such as Nurse With Wound, Throbbing Gristle, Hair Police, Yellow Swans and The Sugababes, with the dark ambient sound scapes of KTL and Raison D'etre to create some of the most uncompromising aural soup this side of Stockport. Horses' self titled album is an interesting effort. Experiments with noise, pulses and electronics are the main factors here, but expect something rather more atmospheric and engrossing rather than clinical, a word often unfairly associated with a lot of electronics and noise based material. We're pretty excited about this one as it's a lot different to anything we've released before, but at the same time fits in to the scheme of things really well.
