Monterrey Sunrise

A 6 track leftfield/idm single (33m 44s) — released October 23rd 2012 on Shabu Recordings

In the middle of the process releasing its first vinyl, Shabu Recordings presents its 6th installment. Three releases after Shabu's most popular release to date, Avus comes back with a new EP filled with works that goes further in a territory of experimental sounds and structures. While Monterrey Sunrise and Darkness Visible are made of melodic monoliths and arrangements similar to his post-moog era releases, Burned and Ill are reminescent of his previous works on Manual Music such as Boite Diabolique and Approach With A Smile. Loyal to its habits, Shabu also releases two remixes taking the originals and bringing them to the next level. Multi-instrumentalist wonderboy Falling From Cloud 9, known for his Oscillate Weirdly EP on Shabu, speeds up the tempo of Ill and brings it influences from a modern version of traditional african tribal music : Shangaan Electro. Guitar, marimbas and polyrythmic drums will have a wonderful effect on dancefloors by breaking usual electronic music rules and bringing that tribal vibe that humans uncounsciously crave for. On the other hand, VNDL, Montreal's IDM rising star, made a downtempo version of Monterrey Sunrise including one of his guitar performances, perfect for watching the sunrise on the border of a beach.
