A New Year

A 4 track singer-songwriter single (16m 1s) — released December 31st 2012 on SB Records

Shane Beales is a prolific singer-songwriter based in London. He has released 2 albums, 4 EP's and, in 2006, 52 singles. A New Year is a song written and performed by Shane Beales and produced by Sam Jones especially for New Year's Eve and the feelings of euphoria, hope and belief that follow into earliest January.

"Having heard so many Christmas songs that come around every December (or sooner), I decided to write a song for New Years."

The lyrics reflect the earnest optimism and desire for a better future felt by many at this time. The galvanising chorus call of 'We Are Ready' and the sincerest simple wish of 'May this year be better than the last one' is something we think will resonate with people all over the world. An added layer or story to the song is that it is exactly 365 beats long! There 7 beats in each bar of the song (instead of the more usual 4 or 3) which represent days of the week and the song has 52 bars representing the weeks of the year.

Shane is excited to be releasing A New Year and hopes that all who hear song have a very Happy 2013!
