Based in Berlin for a decade or more, TANS originally hails from Puglia, southern Italy. Inspired by On U Sound, new wave, hip hop, house and graffiti culture, he released his first recordings in 1992 on Milan's Right Tempo and France's Big Cheese Records. These he followed up with "The Flame Recording", a soundtrack for a TV series on MTV Italia, "Qui non cresce l'erba".

TANS music is a melange of industrial, dub, house and hip-hop influences. Tracks have appeared on Seagrave compilations and received DJ airplay and support on such London radio stations as Resonance FM and NTS.
