We Bring The Music

A 4 track tech-house ep (24m 28s) — released May 19th 2008 on Sing Sing

Four tracks of Acid driven Chicago-esque-Techno-House of the highest quality, this style of music really does not come any better (unless of course it was made in 1988!!) Freak 7 used to release tracks under the name of Sasso and has appeared on many compilations including, Brazilian Beats Vol 5 and 8 and Norman Jays Good Times vol 7, he even did a bootleg of Roy Ayer's 'We Live In Brooklyn" last year which saw huge support from many DJs "We Bring The Music" is homage to all things acid, with stripped back vocals from none-other than Ironweed who just happens to be the brainchild of renowned writer, producer and vocalist, Aniff Akinola, founding member of cult Manc hip-hop outfit 'Chapter and the Verse', co-writer of Kirsty MacColl's hit 'Walking Down Madison' and general co-conspirator of such 90's electronic luminaries as The Orb, Steve Hillage and The Beloved.) And some slick drum programming, I defy anyone on the dance-floor not to move! Stepping up a gear and moving into slightly more techno territory "8 Bit Bitch" uses clever carnival style drums, throbbing bass and sharp high hats. "Curtis Chips" is wonky 6am business that is sure will twist the mind of any seasoned raver Finally "Acid Triffid" (the name alone makes this good before even hearing it!!) makes you feel like you are listening to music of old but with a fresh twist, this EP makes me think of names such as Phuture 303, Adonis, DJ Pierre, Guy Called Gerald Marshall Jefferson and Bam Bam.
