Widdy - The Parp EP

The Parp EP

Sick Trumpet

Released: 30th July 2007 | 3 track funk ep
Straight outta Stockport and with brass section set firmly to 'Parp', the title track from Widdy's first EP does exactly what it says on the tin. This catchy as you like dancefloor number is peppered with hooks and melodies that are sure to wear out even the sturdiest pairs of sneakers. 'Creepy Crawlies' is the sound of a party at the bottom of your garden. It's all bright and breezy to begin with, but the squelchy bass and heavy neck-snapping drums are just a warning of the impending bottom end wobbling that break out halfway through. Sure to be a hit with all the entomologists out there. Taking it down a notch or two is 'Making Spoons' – a laid back affair which begins as a light hearted jazzy shuffler before taking you to a land of swinging pianos and dreamy guitars until it drops you back on your dancing feet again. A tune as quirky as it is mellow and the perfect remedy for all the dancing related injuries you'll pick up from the rest of this smashing EP. Toot toot!
