Who's That in the Fog?

Tinpot Records

Released: 28th October 2013 | 12 track british folk album

Recently hailed as 'Britain's best unknown songwriter' (Sabotage Times) Tom Rosenthal attempts to emerge from the shadows with a new offering. Following his critically acclaimed debut album 'Keep a Private Room Behind the Shop' Tom Rosenthal releases his 2nd album - 'Who's That In The Fog?'. Having received support from the likes of BBC Radio 2's Paul Gambaccini, who described his debut as the best album by a British male artist this year(2011)' Rosenthal saw his work gain a strong following. This culminated with air play on BBC 6music and a number of his songs featuring prominently on Channel 4's teen drama 'Skins'.

'Who's That In The Fog?' comprises of twelve, piano based, often reflective songs that cover a wider range of themes and topics. From a Lizard with the ability to transmogrify, to the sad tale of old man 'Ian', this album is certainly not your usual ballad fare. All the songs were written and recorded in the cold early months 2013. All of the tracks bar one where recorded in Tom's small studio in Angel. The final track 'A Thousand Years', produced by Ben Garrett, was recorded solely in a sunny garden in North London.

"A refreshing and captivating sound sculptor."
Paul Gambaccini, BBC Radio 2
"Tom Rosenthal is a rare breed. A singer-songwriter who pens beautifully understated, intricately arranged quirky tales."
Chris Saunders, Music OMH
"An antidote to malice."
Josie Long, BBC 6music
