Japan's hardest working funkateers, Osaka Monaurail return with a bang! Formed in 1992, the band has been keeping the funk alive in Japan with their JBs inspired sound and impressive live shows for almost 20 years now.

'State of the world', Osaka Monaurail's sixth studio album finds the band tighter than ever, combining the finest moments of funk, jazz and soul to a hot and extremely danceable unique sound. The album includes eleven new songs, eight originals and three covers and be sure that the guys keep it funky from the first note 'til the very end having found the perfect mixture between instrumentals and vocal tracks.

Deeply influenced by the work of James Brown, Bobby Byrd, Lyn Collins, Lee Austin, Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes, the band is still on their mission of bringing authentic funk to the man, a mission that won't last until the funk virus has infected our whole planet. Dressed sharp in tight suits, bandleader Ryo Nakata who got famous for his wild onstage dance moves and the boys deliver one hell of a show whenever the get the chance to play live. 'State of the world' is packed with 'soon to be' classics, from the 'The Archipelago', an incredible mid-tempo number full of string and horn arrangements which could've ended up in any 'Shaft' movie to their steamin' version of the old dancefloor filler 'Hung up'.
