Recorded on July 15th-16th, 1975 at Damiens Studio, Boulogne Billancourt, France. Sound Engineer : Guy Boyer Digital Transfer and mastering : Alain Gandolfi assisted by Bruno Cottance on January 2007. This New Edition is the first one recorded directly from the original master tapes.Great care has been given to respect the original sound of the 24 bits initial recordings transfer. Previous editions of Troupeau Bleu album in cd format were made from a simple copy. Alain Mion, composer, arranger & master of keyboards has been combining swing & energy for 30 years. In 1966, at the age of 19 he performed at the legendary Blue Note. His fellow musicians included Hank Mobley, Hal Singer, Richard Raux and Philly Joe Jones. In 1974, Mion formed the mythical band Cortex who recorded several LP's, including the legendary " Troupeau Bleu ". They toured Europe and performed on many radio and televison shows before the band splited at the beginning of the eighties. Troupeau Bleu, recorded in 2 days in july 1975, is a real musical U.F.O, an unclassifiable record, a mixing of thousand flavours, the kind of records you will discover listening after listenning… " from the original CD liner notes.
