Something a little different from Wah Wah 45s'Our first 10-inch release, and debut single from blue-eyed soul, funk/rock types Talc. Talc are two grown men that felt the need to write and perform material that spoke to them, that made them fall in love with music all over again! After a meeting on Christmas day at lead singer James Knight's house, over a turkey prepared by his good friend Nichol Thomson (keys/vocals/vocoder) the intrepid pair decided they were full. Sick of the usual pop/rock deserts on offer they decided they would make their own recipe'and so Talc were born. 'Modern Sleepover' is the touching tale of a computer that unwittingly falls in love with its owner. It's a case of 'modern love..woman and machine... With melodies reminiscent of early Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, plus vocoders galore, this truly is something very unique. Check the lush horn section, delicate guitars and those oh-so-special lyrics. On the flip, 'Dad's Tired' is concerned with the harsh realities of wife swapping....'pick out the Granada, it won't be much further until we're making sweet love '. Nice. Talc will be playing live at the new Wah Wah session at London's famous Cargo venue on April 7th, with support from dj/proucer Aaron Jerome, the Wah Wah 45s Players and the original Wah Wah dj crew. A must see, for their outrageous stage outfits if nothing else!! Great reactions already from Nick Luscombe (XFM) & Robert Elms (BBC London)! Wah Wah 45s...all the right records, not necessarily in the right order. Coming soon: music from Aaron Jerome, Easylifenatural, Nostalgia 77 & Max Cole.'
