Ninja Tune's collaboration with Chicago-based avant hip hop label Chocolate Industries continues with this ultra-maxi-fat single from the album. Featuring four of the standout tracks from the album it's a juicy package, covering the word play and sheer MC chops of Mos Def, Diverse and Aesop Rock, the epic outrock of RJD2 (declared the new DJ Shadow even by DJ Shadow: well, nearly) and the intelligent pluckery of post-rock legends Tortoise. Really, there's something on here for everybody: club DJs will thrill to Prefuse 73's beat on the Mos Def track (with instrumental also available), air guitarists will freak out to the axe-break on RJD2's latest opus, b-boys will make strange hand signals to Aesop Rock's tribute to the grafotistas while Tortoise fans will sit and smile wryly at the stripped down, uber-tasteful samba-funk from the lords of the high church of being very talented and good and just on it? With the 'Urban Renewal' album being hailed as a landmark in the cross-fertilisation of the 'electronica' and underground hip hop scenes, this new burst of urbanism will finally send the Countryside Alliance crashing to its knees and soundtrack us as, laughing hysterically, we set our pit bulls on them and pelt them with pig-injected, water filled chicken breasts. Yahey!'
